The real estate commission structure has been in place for a long time. In a nutshell, it’s safe to say it has not kept up with industry changes mainly brought about through technology. Technology has streamlined transactions and given us conveniences agents only dreamed of 20 years ago, while giving consumers access to loads of online information.

Currently, it is standard procedure for buyer’s agents to receive an offer of compensation from the listing agent, ultimately paid by the seller through the total listing commission paid. A buyer’s rebate is an incentive for the buyer, paid by the buyer’s agent. It is typically some percentage of the offer of compensation that is received from the listing broker. During the year 2021, Modern Realty is offering a buyer rebate incentive of up to 10% of the offer of compensation received from another brokerage (a co-broke transaction), to be paid at the time of closing. This is per lender approval when needed. Get the keys to your new home, as well as a little something extra in your wallet!
